Masterclass with Julia Ostro

Make your own ricotta gnocchi with cook and author Julia Busuttil Nishimura.

Julia will be hosting two 45 minutes intimate masterclass sessions. During this hands-on experience, you will learn how to make fluffy pillows of homemade ricotta gnocchi from her best selling cookbook Ostro, while enjoying a glass of wine!

To be part of this masterclass you must purchase a ‘Premium Experience’ ticket. This ticket also includes entry to the Ricotta Festival, entertainment, ricotta calda, ricotta gnocchi, salsiccia, and cannolo from the main festival area.

Siesta Cartel will be kicking off the party, performing Italian hits all day long. Expect lots of dancing and singing!

Browse our local producer market place between dishes. From gourmet condiments to locally distilled gin, there will be something for everyone.

And for the little ones (and animal lovers), we will have a petting zoo. Come and cuddle real life farm animals!

Giorgio Linguanti (founder of That's Amore Cheese) will also grace the stage to give an educational talk about ricotta making and the history of the most versatile cheese.

Ricotta Festival Information

TRANSPORT
We are located in 66 Boulevard Latitude, Thomastown which is accessible by car or public transport. Street parking will be available and the closest train station is Thomastown Station which is a 10-15 minute walk.


OUTDOOR EVENTS/WEATHER
The festival will go ahead rain, wind or shine – unless weather conditions become dangerous and pose a risk to safety. In that case we will reschedule the event to a new date.


PURCHASING ON THE DAY
Some transaction points within the festival will be card only. If tickets have not sold out prior to the event, we will have general admission tickets available for purchase at the door for $15.


COVID SAFE – INFORMATION
When you are booking tickets for this event, please ensure you are familiar with the Chief Health Officer’s directions that are currently in place.


WHAT SHOULD I DO IF AM IM UNWELL LEADING UP TO THE EVENT?
You must not attend the Ricotta Festival if you have signs or symptoms of COVID-19. We recommend that you get tested at the first sign of any symptoms. Please refer to the refund policy regarding your ticket if you are unwell and cannot attend.


SEATING OPTIONS
There is no reserved or allocated seating at the Ricotta Festival. Large sharing tables are available throughout the event.


PETS
In accordance with Food Safety Victoria and the Food Act (1984), no animals, except for guide dogs and assistance dogs, are permitted at the Ricotta Festival.


CHILDREN AND ALCOHOL LICENCES
This is an event for all ages. Entry is free for children under 12. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or a guardian. We will have a petting farm for children, but parents and guardians are fully responsibility for their children at all times. Alcohol may only be consumed by persons over the age of 18 with a valid identification documentation.


DISABLED ACCESSIBILITY
All areas are accessible by wheelchair and disabled toilets will be available.


CAPTURE AND USE OF IMAGE
Event photographers and videographers will be present at the Ricotta Festival. In attending the Ricotta Festival you may be photographed, filmed or recorded at the event.

Tickets purchased for the Ricotta Festival are generally non-refundable and are not available for exchange, unless:
